Al Kreitler 1924-2001Al Kreitler, 76, Ottawa, KS, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore, MO. Services will be 10:00am Thursday, July 12, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 7009 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO, burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call 6 - 8pm Wednesday at Park Lawn Funeral Home where the Rosary will be said at 6:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship of John in care of Foxwood Springs Living Center, or to Kansas City Hospice.

Al was born August 1, 1924, in Victoria, KS to Meinrad and Beata (Dreiling) Kreitler. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Mary Lee Kasserman on August 1, 1949, in Garnett, KS. Al and his wife, Mary founded Al Kreitler's Custom Rollers, Inc., in 1965, in Kansas City, MO, and moved to Ottawa, KS in 1988. They designed and produced bicycle-training equipment, which became the exclusive equipment used by Olympians. His wife of 52 years preceded him in death on February 28, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his son Patrick in 1991, and two brothers and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Smith, Peculiar, MO, two sons, Michael Kreitler, Butler, MO, and Peter Kreitler, Radcliffe, KY, three grandsons, two granddaughters, a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson, brothers, Frank and Ralph Kreitler, sisters, Mary Hultz, Theresa Harris, and many nieces and nephews.
