|IMBA's National Mountain Bike Patrol program is growing fast. Founded in 1994, this volunteer trail assistance program now includes more than 70 patrol units and 600 patrollers across the U.S. and in Canada, Italy, and Japan. Seventeen new patrol units have started this year. Six prestigious corporate sponsors are providing financial and equipment support. |
Special thanks to Pearl Izumi, Camelbak, CLIF SHOT, Voler, SockGuy, and McKay Insurance Agency for their support. Patrollers wear Pearl Izumi jackets, SockGuy socks and Voler jerseys and shorts. They carry their gear in Camelbak packs and provide CLIF SHOT to hikers, equestrians, and mountain bikers while sharing information, providing directions, helping with minor repairs, and providing first aid. Government officials rely on these volunteer patrollers for up-to-date reports on trail conditions and advice on trail management.
