The 15th season of the NORBA Nationals will consist of a five-race series, with the first race set for May 15.
Please note that only dates have been set. Specific venues have yet to be determined.
NCS 1: May 15-18
NCS 2: June 12-15
NCS 3: June 19-22
NCS 4: July 24-27
NCS 5: Aug. 14-17
An alternate date of Aug. 24-27 has been set to accommodate any late changes to the schedule.
"We're working on a number of venues," said Sutton. "The 2002 series proved a big success. We've implemented a number of changes to help riders, spectators, sponsors and the media. We have worked hard to develop the Balance Bar Short Track and the SoBe Mountain Cross. We're starting to harvest the fruits of those efforts."
Sutton noted that participant numbers at the Chevy Trucks Nationals has remained high and crowd counts were also strong at every venue. "We finished the 2002 series at Mount Snow, Vermont with the largest crowds of the season," said Sutton. "Mount Snow was not just the biggest mountain bike race in New England; it was the biggest Chevy Trucks Nationals event period."
The Chevy Trucks NORBA National Championships Mountain Bike Series is North America's premier off-road cycling series. The series crowns USA Cycling's Mountain Bike Champions. The series is aired on the Outdoor Life Network - the leading resource for television coverage of cycling and adventure sports.
