Interbike Outdoor Demo Adds BMX Track and Downhill Section

07/17/2003
With the extended scheduling and relocation of the OutDoor Demo to Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, Nevada, Interbike's popular pre-show testing event continues to gain momentum and establish itself as a premier affair for the bicycle industry. The latest confirmation of the OutDoor Demo's broad appeal comes as show organizers announce the addition of a professionally built BMX test track for this season's demo.

Authentic in its construction, the BMX test track will be 750' in length and will feature classic BMX terrain with step up, tabletop, and double jumps, as well as man made berms. The track will be designed and built by the highly qualified expert staff at Boulder City BMX, the NBL-sanctioned track and BMX event company based in Boulder City, Nevada (www.bouldercitybmx.com).

"A large part of the reason for moving the OutDoor Demo to Boulder City was so Interbike can better serve the industry with a more suitable facility and expanded opportunities," said Lance Camisasca, Interbike Show Director. "The addition of the BMX track will create more possibilities for exhibitors while enabling participation by more of the industry. From BMX to road bike dealers, we want the OutDoor Demo to appeal to everyone in the industry and the diversity of the market," Camisasca added.

Other news emanating from the OutDoor Demo include plans for developing the event's first-ever Downhill MTB section, which will allow attendees to test full suspension bikes and products specifically built for this discipline. And as always, there will be a multitude of excellent cross-country mountain bike trails at Bootleg Canyon to serve all skill levels.

On the road front, Interbike has also designed a two-mile loop of smooth road for testing the latest in road bikes and recumbent equipment.

Celebrating its 8th year and held for the two days prior to the opening of the expo, the OutDoor Demo provides retailers and media a chance to test firsthand the latest in bikes and cycling equipment. The 2002 OutDoor Demo drew a record of over 4,000 attendees and 115 exhibitors. Attendees can click here to register for Interbike and the OutDoor Demo:
