![]() Roadside Bicycle Repair: A Pocket Manifesto Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 4 More Information Flowery prose, but good information This book is full of good information, but reads like victorian poetry. Once you get used to the verbiage, its quite useful. Practically useless Expected a simple, straight-forward roadside repair guide. Instead got a bunch of esoteric rambling BS. You have to really dig to get any actual repair info. Its also written as if author takes it for granted that you are thoroughly versed in bike terminology. Much of the instruction seems to assume a prior level of knowledge that a relative novice would not have. Very disappointed. Best Value Great take along book. More pictures than Mr. Tracys previous publications. Instructions are thorough and give the proper precautions about common mistakes made while performing repairs. Great deal at twice the price! Compact and Handy-Great for Bicycle Touring Im a big fan of Sam Tracys approach to bike repair. He is always straightforward about which components are worth your time and how to save money on bicycle repair. This book is a convenient manual to bring along with you on the road because it will fit in your back pocket and there are large side flaps that will hold the book open on the ground while you make your repairs. The pictures are clear and easy to follow (an improvement from Tracys last book) and the book covers everything you need to know about the most common roadside bike blunders. |
