I had purchased a mountain bike with the intention of using it more for the streets in my neighborhood and surrounding area. Because Im really long-waisted, it was a pain bending over as far as I had to with the stock stem. I simply added this extension and its put my handlebars right where I wanted them.
Others have noted a couple things (in other reviews for similar products) that I want to share here as well:
1. Keep in mind that youll need an allen wrench of at least 3-3.5" long to be able to screw in the mounting screw. Its all the way down the extension. I had one so no biggie.
2. Raising your handlebars will probably mean that youll need to get a longer front brake cable (unless you have a good 3" of slack - which you usually dont). I just picked up a new cable and housing from my local bike shop for under $4. Again - no biggie.
The installation was easy and my ride is perfect now.
