![]() Sram PC 9 Speed Chain By: Sram Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Nice but, what they don't tell you is... Hi. My bike chain broke and I ordered two of these as replacements. What they dont tell you when ordering is that the chain is not one continuous circle and that it requires a special tool to join the ends. Not cool. The chain looks nice and sturdy, but it sure would have been nice to know that I needed a special tool... Maybe this is common knowledge. I have to confess, that I am not a bike mechanic. I rated this a 4-star because of the lack of information, not because of the quality of the chain. That I cant comment on because I DONT HAVE THE SPECIAL TOOL!!! Everything I might want in a chain. Its smooth, it shifts quickly, it doesnt get bound-up links like my old Shimano chain, and the Powerlink makes it a snap to take off & clean. Love it! SRAM Wins SRAM has always worked well with my Shimano components. The best part of all is Power Link for disassembly and cleaning when the chain gets grungy. Easy to use I love SRAM chains. They look good and are so easy to use. Just match the length and put it on. Get Shimano chain to go with Shimano derailleurs The gray chain came on my bike stock and it was giving me annoying shifting problems and lots of rubbing on the front derailleur. The quick release link brakes easy and is expensive to replace. Works well for fixing it quickly but Id rather get a strong chain than a chain that is easy to fix. Easy to use and reuse link I have about 4,000 miles on my bike and this is the 3rd chain, including the one that came with the bike. I like the connecting link SRAM uses. I can take the chain off of the bike easily for cleaning, etc. The initial rides with this chain were a little rough, but then so were the first rides with my last new Shimano chain. And, I found I needed to turn the barrel adjuster a little for better alignment of the derailleur with the sprockets. |
