I got this chain for my Ultegra 10 speed. I wanted a SRAM chain specifically because of the fact that you could remove the chain without the need for a chain tool (I thought it would be nice to remove the chain when cleaning it). Im unclear if all SRAM chains are like this now, or just the high end ones, but you can no longer take apart the quick-link with your fingers, you have to use a tool to remove it now. I thought this was what made SRAM different from Shimano? The chain comes with links to PUT IT TOGETHER by hand, but the instructions say you must use a tool to take it back apart. If you ever remove and want to put the chain back together, you would need more of those links. That still is one advantage to me over Shimano. Putting Shimano chains together with a pin was never a 100% successful thing with me. There was always a possibility of a broken link.
This chain is noticably lighter though. Still to determine how smooth it shifts......
