More Information

Needs a lid!     On: 2008-06-28

Between the aerobars hydration is great. I just have to reiterate that it needs a lid. It sloshes out when you hit small bumps in the road and the yellow sponge will pop out on bigger bumps. I hope the next generation product isnt so awkward. Id also like for the rubber bands to be built into the bracket and not to have to remove the velcro strap from the bracket before attaching the bottle.
Great bottle, just needed a cork     On: 2008-06-14

Tired of spillage from your aero-bottle because of the sponge.
Buy a Cork. It works terrific. No more spillage.

Here is the Cork size information:
Cork 28 - top 2 & 1/8" - Bottom 1 & 27/32", Length 1 & 1/2"

I can now rate the bottle with 4 stars. If it would have came with a descent cap I would have given it a 5 star
Needs a lid     On: 2008-05-18

It is easy to drink from this bottle and it holds plenty for a 40k ride. However, it suffers greatly from the lack of a lid. You cant fill the bottle all the way up while your bike is racked with one wheel off the ground. Even if the yellow mesh doesnt fall all the way to the bottom of the bottle, your drink will slosh out over any kind of bump. If it does fall to the bottom, you will probably lose about half your drink. The other problem is that it is likely to pop out -- I saw about half a dozen of them one the road during my last tri. Stick to water so you dont have sticky liquid sloshing all over your bike and run the straw through the mesh to keep it in place and you might have some success.

Buyer Beware: An update 2     On: 2007-05-22

Okay, Profile has followed through and I have received the replacements, which goes some way to increase my opinion of Profile. In the next update I will let you know how the replacements work out. Since posting this just yesterday, a miracle happend: I was contacted by a company rep and he has promised to ship out replacements. Now, we shall see if that happens in due course, which would go a long way to ameliorate my opinion of Profile and result in another update. A drink system is an indispensable item in a long distance triathlon, but not this one. There are two problems: One, the rubber bands that secure the bottle in the cage broke almost immediately - after two uses. They were brittle, dried out. The second problem is worse: the yellow sponge that is to keep the water from sloshing out, pops out because it is too small for the bottle...this is not an isolated problem that only I faced, but many triathletes have had the same experience - I only had to count all the yellow sponges on the Ironman Arizona course to see that I was not alone in having had this problem...I could even overlook all this, if I had been able to get feedback or redress from the manufacturing company, Profile, but they have not responded after having been contacted several times. What prompted me to write today is the fact that I just did another tri this weekend, where again the yellow sponges littered the road.
Great product, easy to install     On: 2007-05-07

I really like having this water bottle between my aerobars. It makes for better hydration with little effort. I was extremely surprised with the installation using the rubber bands. Super simple idea. I actually purchased a mounting system, not realizing that it wasnt needed. The bands work perfect. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the yellow mesh that goes in the bottle to prevent splashing and allows for quick refills will slip down into the bottle instead of staying in the opening of the bottle. Not a big deal, just annoying as some of my liquid will splash out if riding over bumpy roads. Overall though, great product and would definitely recommend buying.
