JanSport Elefunk Messenger Bag (Blue State) By: JanSport Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 2 More Information well made well made, large enough. gave four stars for difficulty to unlock for my daughter, otherwise happy with the purchase. good bag for recreation but not for business CONS: - The buckle clips that hold down the flap are hard to pinch/undo - The large zipped section under the flap doesnt have enough organizer slots, so stuff will be all jumbled up in there. - Laptop section isnt well padded (side padding very thin and no padding on the bottom at all) - Straps are sown on so less durable and cant change to special padded straps - No quick access pocket in the back outside of the bag PROS: + Roomy zipped main compartment + Roomy pockets on the front of the flap and under the flap. While this bag falls shorts as a computer business bag, I think it has potential as a sports or duffle bag alternative. If you are looking for a messenger bag with a zipped main compartment covered by a flap, check out the review on these other ones that I tried: Netpack Comp Brief II, Netpack Manhattan Computer Brief, and I ended up with Dakine Laptop Messenger Bag SMall. Fantastic Product... Very Roomy.. All I can say is, JanSport thanks for saving my shoulders and back pain!!! Totally worth it!! Love This Bag I teach four courses so I carry a ton of stuff with me every day - books, notebooks, binders, etc - and it all fits in this bag with room to spare. The padded shoulder strap is comfy even though the bag is heavy when full. My only complaint is that the two buckles that secure the top flap are a little stiff but hopefully they will loosen up with use. I had originally wanted a briefcase (somewhat more professional looking) but they tend to be heavy even when empty and not as roomy or practical. This one is light but sturdy, with room for everything. I would definitely recommend it. Sturdy bag for work and travel I was a bit skeptical buying this bag even though the reviews were good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I took this bag on my trip to Hong Kong and boy was it worth it. My T61 laptop fit in snugly into it along with a set of change of clothes. The bag has ample space inside to fit a few books and also enough zipper pouches on the side to hold your misc. items like coins, pens, mp3 players, chargers, cords etc. Access to these pouches is very convenient especially at the airport security line, where you can slip in your cellphones, wallet, coins without having to open the main flap. I now use this for work carrying my laptop, charger and my lunch box. Have had a great experience. I gave it a 4 star because the bag fells a bit uncomfortable when you load it with heavier items like books, but then again it was never designed for the super heavy items. Awesome This product will satisfy your needs. Its made from a very resistant material, its worth the price. The bag contains different compartiments where you can store small things that otherwise would get lost inside the bag. This bag was the best present! Nice... but... It really is a tad too big for books. There is a lot of space for books to slide back and forth and I carried some full-sized textbooks around. JanSport Elefunk Messenger Bag The bag was nice but it turned out too big. I thought it was a bit smaller, I wanted it for my school books, but instead I left it for weekend travel because it has space even for my laptop. I recommend it if you need to carry a lot of things or for travel. sturdy good value. My kids all had JanSports that lasted 6 years! Good pocket placement, stylish Great messenger bag! I purchased this bag in lavender for my 6th grader. It seems to be holding up well and she say its comfortable even when filled to the brim with textbooks. Great bag! A good bag for my 5th grader My son is in the 5th grade and has a fairly large binder he brings home every day. This binder plus other books or notebooks fit much better in this bag than a back pack and he seems to like it better as well. It seems to be strong enough yet comfortable for him to wear over his shoulder. Not love at first sight I was disappointed when I got this bag at first, primarily because it was huge! And it seemed like it wouldnt hold its shape. After getting discouraged by Amazons return policy, I decided to use it anyway. And I am so glad I did. I have been using it to carry my gym clothes, office documents, lunch box, and am really happy with its performance and quality and guess what - it does hold its shape. Would have loved to see more compartments (-1 star for this), but it isnt so bad the way it is right now. MacBook Pro does fit I just got my bag, however I have to say that my 17 MacBook Pro DOES fit in the padded pocket. The perfect bag for many uses Let me tell you how wonderful this bag is.. I originally bought it to use for music theater rehearsals. It has two side pockets (perfect for dance shoes), a water bottle pocket, a large front pocket for my rehearsal skirt, and two inner pockets---I could keep my script, pencils, ipod, and a snack or lunch for all day rehearsals. I have loved using it! But then , I had the opportunity to play in the pit orchestra for a musical. The bag held my oboe, clarinet, and flute, in addition to my music, music stand and reed and instrument accessories. It also has that water bottle pocket for easy access on the side. I am also a kindergarten teacher and will use the bag on days when I take my laptop to school. There is a padded side pocket for the computer, and I can fit all my books, pens, pencils, and my lunch for the day into it. I can ride my bike to school unencumbered by multiple bags. This is a versatile bag. If you are looking for a small bag, this is not it. If youre looking for a larger bag that has multiple purposes, this is it. i love this bag This bag is soo convenient and it holds lots of stuff. It looks cure too! SHIPPING took way too long Waited two weeks for my order to ship but finally received an email that there was a delay that would take ANOTHER week to ship. I cancelled my order and ordered a North Face Shifty. Cost more but received the bag two DAYS after i ordered it. Wouldnt recommend buying this bag. two thumbs down. Jansport Messenger Bag The product was very nice. I bought it as a gift for a friend of mine. She loved it! It has so many compartments and it easy to carry. What you see online is exactly what you get. A great bag for school Im a college student and I was looking for a messenger bag to replace my traditional backpack. Id have to say Elefunk definitely satisfied all my expectations. First of all, A LOT of room for everything. For those of you wondering what the exact size might be, it can comfortably fit four 8 1/2" x 11" FiveStar notebooks in the main compartment, with calculators/mp3 players/writing utensils/other junk in other pockets. The "divider" pocket can easily fit my 13" laptop. Ive never felt like I was fitting too much into this bag. The fabric is also good, and looks nice too - fits very well for any college/high school student. I havent had this bag long enough to comment on its durability, but so far its holding up very well. The only minor problem is weight distribution - as with all messenger bags, Elefunk is not designed for a heavy load. If youre a student who needs to carry only a few notebooks, its extremely comfortable. But if youre planning to carry a heavy load, then this bag might be a little uncomfortable, as most other messenger bags will be. You might wanna look for a backpack, which will distribute the weight more evenly on both shoulders. Overall, great product, definitely recommended for casual wearing with moderate loads. JanSport quality is definitely going down... I originally got this bag about 6 years ago (in 2003). It was perfect, there were so many little pockets that you could organize everything you needed. Plus, it doesnt look huge, but it holds ALOT of stuff. I purchased another one for my boyfriend recently (Fall 2008) b/c he was so in love with my bag. The design in generally the same, but the quality of the material has seriously deteriorated. You can tell the fabric is made of much cheaper stuff. The front zip pocket use to have a compartment to slide things into, but it now just sown directly onto the bag (eliminating a good partition in front pocket). There is also this tiny piece of fabric sown on as a handle to use to carry it, but its so feeble, its not really much of an improvement. If you didnt know what the old one was like, Id still say it was a pretty good bag...nice colors options now too, but clearly cutting back on the quality of the materials and workmanship. Awesome product! Shipping was quick and this bag is extremely durable and the perfect size for me (high school student). I would recommend this to anyone looking for a messenger bag. AWESOME!!! If you are looking for a good quality, spacious and trendy bag, this is the product for you!!! I ordered the pink one and the color is great! ... of course if you are looking for a regular size bag and dont want something big then keep looking, cause youll find this bag a little bulky! Great bag Exactly what I needed it for. Has more space than I thought. Does get a bit uncomfortable if you have more than two books. Great Bag but bigger then imagined I got the Lucious Lavender one and I really like it. It holds my books for school and I plan on taking it as my carry on, on a trip cause it it big enough. I have actually only used it twice so far, but I really like it. It was much bigger then I thought it was going to be. Since I am just a grad student part time I usually only have one or two books a semester and this fits everything for both classes and a 32oz water bottle. If I had a laptop that worked it would fit nicely in the sleeve. There are a few other compartments that are good for pens, pencils, calculator, wrislet(wallet) and whatever else u need. Nice Bag I bought that for my sister she really liked that. It is nice bag with nice color. Elefunk Messenger Bag I purchased this bag for my partner who is pursuing college. He absolutely loves this bag. There are a number of zippered compartments on the body of the bag. The front flap also has a small pocket for easy access externally which, is secured by clips that attach to the bottom of the bag. Beneath the flap is another zippered compartment that is very handy. It has a number of pockets, a key ring, among other areas to keep yourself organized, this zippered area provides a secure place to carry a wallet or music player without having the worry of being pick-pocketed. We live in Chicago and this is a wonderful commuter bag as well. The strap has an adjustable pad for heavier loads as well as a padded back for wearing while biking. There is also a netted external pouch for bottles. The main compartment of the bag is secured by a long zipper that runs the length of the opening and also has a padded divider for occasionally transporting any size laptop. It was money well spent, as hell be sure to use the bag for years to come. I hope this helps in your decision. Messenger Bag This is a great bag for your laptop and what not. It is also very sporty and cute. I wanted to use it for a backpack but that didnt workout so well b/c I had sooo many heavy books. The bag was received in high quality condition. I would do business with this seller again. Decent bag, but stripped of some important features I bought this bag to replace another Jansport bag that Ive had for well over a decade. I bought it because its pretty much the direct descendant of my original bag. Unfortunately this new bag has obviously been feature and cost reduced. First off, the handle is a flat out joke. It looks just like an overgrown coat hook loop from a jacket. My old bag has a nice large and rugged handle that makes carrying it briefcase style easy. Holding this handle seems like it would painful with any sort of load in the bag. Next, the swivels for the shoulder strap are gone and you are stuck with the built in shoulder strap, which is admittedly wider and more comfortable than my old bag, but its take it or leave it. Finally, there are no pen pockets, which might seem minor, but Im guessing searching for a pen over and over will become annoying. There are some pockets that might suitable for writing implements, but theyre in the center of the bag. All that said, its a nice looking bag It also has more structure and padding than my old bag, which was shapeless and floppy without a couple books or a clipboard in it. It has a side pocket in the main chamber that looks good for a ~13" widescreen laptop like a macbook, but I have an old 4:3 ratio 12" laptop here that sticks out a couple inches. Its definitely not a dedicated laptop bag or business travel bag, but it makes up in its versatility, which has kept me using this old one throughout the years. Great Bag Its a well made bag,it has a comfort style and perfect for laptops, books, notebooks and also clothes in my case.. Big Bag Ok, so the bag doesnt look like the one in the picture. It is bigger. But it is really comfy too. It allows you to carry a bunch of stuff when you need to and i like that. If you are planning on buying this for a laptop, ahhh it is not that great. It has a small division to put the laptop there with a little bit of soft pad but that is it. And also it is uncomfortable to put the pc there too cause you want it to be inside the division so that the pad covers it all, but instead the top part does not fit inside. :( I think it would work for a 10 inches laptop or so but not bigger than that. But in any case, if you are looking a bag for school or college, this is a must get one. Awesome Bag! I just received this bag a few days ago and I love it! It has plenty of room if you have to haul around a lot of books and it also has a lot of smaller pockets to keep everything secure stuff organized. The shoulder strap is very comfortable as well which was surprising since these kind of bags arent always the most comfortable. I also love the color! I order the scarlet and black. The colors are vibrant and the bag is durable and very well made! A carryall bag This bag is durable, and big enough for books, and electronic items (cameras, chargers, extra batteries, and more). It fits perfectly around you when worn over your shoulder. However the handle on top is too small, and should be larger. Its a perfect "Jack sack". Best messenger bag Ive had so far. Happy in montana I bought this for my son who was having trouble using a back pack. He has thanked us for it several times and says it is much better then using a back pack. It arrived in good time and conditon. Great bag The bag is comfortable to wear, watertight, and has bunch of compartments to hold your stuff. I especially like the two front side zippered pockets, very convenient. The main compartment has a pocket that will fit a 13" computer, though it can accommodate a larger one simply by putting it in the main compartment (duh). Jansport bags are usually very good, and this one is not exception. Great product This bag is very spacious and holds a lot of stuff, enough that I can even use it as a weekender bag when Im not using it as a daily book bag. For anyone who, like I did before buying this bag, wonders whether its suitable for laptop storage, the main compartment has what the manufacturer describes simply as a "divider," but which is padded on all sides, so it makes for a serviceable laptop sleeve. The bag has an ample number of intelligently-designed pockets for keeping organized everything from little stuff like pens and post-it notes and such, to mid-sized pockets suitable for holding items about the size of a paperback. It has an elasticized mesh side pocket that offers quick and easy (i.e., unzippered) access to stuff like a water bottle, a small umbrella, mp3 player, cell phone, keys, etc.. The ballistic nylon is seemingly indestructible - it has successfully resisted a number of attacks from my springer spaniel - and sheds rain easily. All in all, a very versatile, dependable, and well-thought out bag. Great for grad student with long days I am a graduate student who also has an internship after searching for the perfect back that was both functional (pockets to organize, room for books, water bottle holder) and professional looking (I got the chocolate) I found the this bag. I knew I wanted a messenger because it seems like every younger working professional had one and I wanted something that would look more grown-up than my usual backpack. I also wanted a messenger so my back didnt get sweaty in the summer and so I wouldnt have to worry about my coat hood getting stuck in the winter. At first I thought it was really big for my 56 frame but I quickly got used to it. It has a great front flap pocket to keep my ipod, train pass and other items that I need to get to quickly. The larger pocket expands to fit about 2 textbooks and a notebook along with my lunch. I wish it had a handle on the top for when I dont want to carry it on my shoulder but I do grab the little loop on the back to hold it on my lap. Flap fasteners are also great to slip a newspaper through. It does sometimes hurt my shoulder when I have a lot to carry, but I expect that (a backpack hurts as well!) and just switch shoulders. If you are looking for a practical bag to carry items for school and/or work that looks professional, Id opt for this bag. The perfect bag...for college students. After reading quite a few negative reviews for this bag, I thought I would write a review to clarify something. This is a messenger bag, not a backpack. A messenger bag was and is never meant to hold all the items a backpack can. So basically, if youre using this bag for school purposes, keep this in mind. This bag can hold items for possibly up to 3 classes. So while its perfect for a college student who might have a class, then another class right after it. This bag would be horrible for a high school student, who might have to drag home texts for six classes. Of most messenger bags, the Elefunk bag is probably going to be your best choice, cause of its size and number of compartments. We have 3 of these bags, 2 of which are used for education, and the third is used as a utility/diaper family bag. For education, as I stated before, its best for college students. The main compartment is spans out and can hold 2 college texts, binders, and study guides snug. Keyword there is snug, cause its not big enough to carry more. Inside the main compartment is a little sleeve held tight by a velcro patch. I use this to keep my study guides from my texts. Okay, next comes the the front pocket attached to the main compartment. This compartment is big enough to fit my 12 inch iBook in a neopreen cover, or a 13 inch MacBook bare. Warning, if you place your MacBook in this pouch, careful how you toss this bag around, cause it offers no padding and is very unforgiving. Inside this front pouch is a zippered sleeve fine for putting loose change or maybe id cards or what not. Next to the zippered sleeve are two pouches for pens and pencils, even a TI calculator, that is if youre not planning on putting your notebook in that pouch. Dont worry though, cause attached to that pouch on the outside are two zippered compartments opposite one another to the front pouch. On one side I put my black leather data file, and on the other side, I put my TI-89 calculator. Then that leaves the flap, which is secured to the bag using strong plastic clips. On the front of the pouch is a zippered compartment. Which I pretty much can only use it to pack up a couple magazines to read, if Im waiting between classes. You can also use it to pack up headphones or earbuds, to listen to you iPod or whatever. As for the shoulder strap, its about as comfy as its going to get. Keep in mind, youre lugging 20 to 30 pounds of books and supplies, its not suppose to feel like a Chinese massage. But I cant complain. As for a family bag. Eh, I wouldnt suggest this to a newly mother who wants to go down to a mall. Cause stores will not let your take this bag in there. But if youre on a trip, or going on a flight, this bag is excellent. You can pack away all your babies needs, and other essentials. Anyway, I just didnt like seeing a product I use, and like, getting knocked, cause a couple people misjudged how to use it properly. Again, if youre taking more than 2 or 3 classes at a time, this bag isnt for you. But if youre a run of the mill college student, who takes a class or two at a time, then goes home. This bag is a must. Pretty Good - Except for handle The picture doesnt do this bag justice. The colors are way cooler than this picture. I really like this bag. I pack it with about 40 lbs of books with no problem. My only complaint is the rinky-dink handle on the top of the bag. There are times when I just want to carry my bag without putting it over my shoulder but the handle hurts my hand because its so tiny and cheap. Backpack or laptop case? I purchased this bag for my husband. Hes put it thru some pretty rough days. It doubles as a laptop case some days and still stays strong. Great as always - Jansport lives up to its rep! Awsome bag Basically just bought the bag to carry a sketch book and some pencils in but it would be great for other stuff. The color is cool and its well made with lots of pockets for all your stuff. knd of plain I had an older messenger bag from Jansport that i unfortunaltey lost along the way. This seemed to be a suitable replacement. It is a little large for my tastes. I guess they make adequate space for a laptop, but I dont need it for that, for the most part. Pockets are certainly big, the grab handge is a little narrow, and thin. A little more color would be nice, because it is all black, with the exception of the logo being outlined in red. other than those minor complaints, i do like it. where's the handle? This is a roomy, well-made and sturdy bag - my big gripe with it is that there is no handle, just the shoulder strap. For some reason, there is a thin, flimsy strap at the top which looks like it could be used to hang the empty bag on a coat hook. I dont see the point. I like this bag, but assumed it would have a standard handle like all of the other messenger-type bags Ive owned. Makes it diffifult to carry at times. Some design flaws, but overall good I bought this bag for the Jansport name, which, as a student and a teacher, I trust. I intend to use this bag for a trip across Europe, then to use it as a laptop bag. Good points: -the Jansport name and guarantee. -Water bottle holder on one side of the bag (great for me in Europe, and a key factor for me buying this bag) -decent, if not great, laptop protection -good size--can hold a lot of stuff or a little bit of stuff without losing shape or look -comfortable to wear on shoulder or across body -good length of strap (and its adjustable) Bad points: -the flap is held down by two small, unadjustable latches. Ive found them difficult to use one-handed, and they just seem flimsy. Id much rather have one heavy-duty latch. -The shoulder padding is a bit awkward...but it can be removed, and I think it will improve as I break the bag in. -The smaller pockets in the front are not that great in design. If you lift the flap, there are three pockets in the front of the bag. (Theres also a large zip pocket in the flap, which is good for easy access.) Anyway, the center pocket is OK...nothing too fancy, but a zip front and requisite card holders, key holder, etc. Above this, there are two narrow pockets that are a few inches wide and go down the whole front of the bag (thing a tall, thin rectangle behind the main front pocket on either side). These pockets are pretty much useless to me...theyre too thin for much stuff, and theyre awkward to get to for easy access. -The material seems thin. However, since this is a Jansport bag, Im trusting it will hold up. Great bag! All I can say is the bag is exactly what I needed for school. I found I had plenty of room for my bulky textbooks. Great school bag I bought this for my husband for Christmas to use for school. Hell typically carry 1 to 2 large books, notebooks, juice/water bottle, etc. with him. Hes given this great reviews and said it has all kinds of extra features that he didnt notice when he looked at it online. It has several pockets in the front flap and a stretchy holder for bottles on the outside. And, of course, you cant go wrong with Jansports quality and repair policy. Great item; very happy with the purchase. Big and floppy I thought that this bag had more substance to it, and that the material would be thicker. It feels too flimsy for its size so that it ends up not holding its shape very well and tends to sag like a hammock. It is really much longer than you would need for books and notebooks. The flap is a bit long and makes access a little difficult. I prefer a bag that you can set down, and that provides more structure. I also think the lack of support causes the bag to pull on your shoulder quite a bit. In all it was too big and floppy for me. Ill be back again and again... Disappointed I think that I was misled by the picture that was posted on the website because I dont think the bag that I received looked like the picture. great bag I have had this bag for a week, and it is great, I love how big it is, it fits my binders and a few books. Great for a college student. The PERFECT fit! This bag is absolutely perfect! I keep my 14.1" laptop, usb mouse, battery charger, palm pilot, palm pilot keyboard and random paperwork in this bag, and it is NOT overstuffed! Everything important for my daily travels fits in this bag, and still looks stylish with the slim fit pockets! There is a wide foam pad that I lay my laptop against, and I have nothing to worry about as I carry it along while shooting pictures. The construction is the best, but then again, it is a Jansport, so you should already know that you have nothing to worry about in that department. I would highly recommend this bag for laptop and business paperwork carrying. functional The bag is functional with all of the pockets. It works great for a college student but if you need to walk far with any amount of books (more than one) the bag is very painful on your back. Items are at your fingertips. The PERFECT fit! I typically carry about 20lbs of books, with no apparent strain on the bag. Moreover, there are plenty of separate compartments for organizational purposes. Overall, for the price this is a solid product. Sturdy backpack This product is an excellent option for carrying textbooks. I typically carry about 20lbs of books, with no apparent strain on the bag. I am a teacher and use it everyday to carry books and papers back and forth to school. After reading other reviews, I was a little worried that it would be too small. I took a gamble anyway and ordered it. It has lots of compartments and its roomy enough to fit everything, including my lunch. I can also put my large thermos in there on days when I have only two or three books. I love the color. The fabric is very durable and it seems waterproof. Was exactly what we were hoping it would be. Would definately recommend this product. Too Big Be careful when buying this bag. It is much larger than it appears. I was looking for a bag to use for college for carrying around my books, and when I got this I was very disappointed. It is extremely wide, and Im not sure what kind of textbook or laptop would be that wide. It would not be suitable for easy, on the go, carrying or biking. Be forewarned. A Great Laptop Bag I bought this to carry around my laptop, mostly when I travel. I really, really love the bag. It has lots of pockets, which can be used for power cords, other computer accessories, or whatever else needed. I can usually pack my computer, everything I need with it, several books, cell phone, mp3 player, and everything I normally carry in my purse. Its very durable. I used JanSport bags all through school, and I never wore one out before I got tired of it. Interesting product Bought this bag for work and its real nice. Made from good material and the bag is spacious. Has a suitable number of compartments. Its good for students to carry books and also good to carry a laptop around. Bag has a real nice design. Great buy Versatile messenger bag I love this bag - it is sturdy and holds a lot in a compact space. There is a padded inner compartment for your laptop with plenty of extra room for files or books. The fabric is good quality. I dont know why they call the color purple mash as you can see from the picture it is really quite pink. I also dont know why they call it a backpack when it is clearly a messenger bag. Other than these quibbles with the copy writer, I highly recommend this bag. Awesome This backpack is extremely well made and has a compartment for everything that I need one for. It is spacious and easy to get in and out of. I love the way the straps can be shortened or lengthened to provide a comfortable fit. Excellent product. Plenty-o-space! Had a hard time finding a decent backpack that would accomodate all my sons books and five-star" binder. This one fits the bill. Plenty of space, great durability and four months later still looks great. All that you would expect from a JanSport product along with a great price! Son also prefers the messenger style bag now as it allows him to easily add or access things quickly when in a rush to the bus. The Elefunk is Funky I recently returned to school (College) and was out of touch with the offerings on the market, I know a bagpack was out of the question because I also work it will not fit my look. In searching online I came across the Elefunk and beleive you me its just what I was searching for. Bear in mind, it is not fit for a lot of school books, but college students with a light workload like me, the compartments are plentiful, and the padded strap is convenient. All in all a good purchase. biggest we found! For the price, this bag is great. Most bags in stores and online were 4" in width, and will not accomodate my daughters carry-home books each day. This bag is 6" plus. biggest we found! For the price, this bag is great. Most bags in stores and online were 4" in width, and will not accomodate my daughters carry-home books each day. Extremely durable Ive had this bag for a year now and it still impresses me with its durability! Im a student so I pack an incredible amount of books all over the city and any other bag would start to show wear from the load but this one is still good as new. Also the pockets are very handy. My only complaint is that the fabric tends to stain easily, but this could probably be avoided with some staingard. He loves it! by: winnipesaukeewoman On: 2006-04-28 My poor son got deprived of backpacks and bookbags because of being homeschooled, but now that hes a college student, he can carry books! This means the 5 star rating might be biased by the sheer pleasure of simply having something to feel like fitting in with the crowd, but to be fair and honest about this product...I admit it does look like a quality item. Its built practical, looks good, and (having to guess) Id say its probably better suited for college use rather than high school. For some odd reason being in college doesnt require as many books to be carried in one day as I see what high school students have to carry. If this bag was a dual set with each bag on opposite sides, it would seem to resemble the old-fashioned saddle bags (except its not leather, is maybe a little bit larger in capacity, and has plenty of individual compartments and zippers). Good bag for a college student I use this bag for my books and supplies, and recently my laptop. Yes, there are problems with weight distribution, but its a messenger bag, and thats to be expected. Lots of space for all of my stuff. Jansport is a reputable brand, and the product has performed well for me. Great capacity, Poor weight distribution I can easily fit my laptop as well as several books in this bag, but if I carry more than one textbook along with my laptop, it is painful to carry the bag. Regardless if I position the bag across my body or on just one shoulder, it does not seem to distribute weight well or offer sufficient support. If you dont have a lot to carry I would recommend this bag. Easy to organize the supplies that I need to carry with me. Cute and Painful by: Anonymous On: 2005-07-02 I could not wait to get this bag. When I did I found out that it was not all that it was in for. I have to walk home and it really hurts my back. Plus, it does not hold much. I had the problem of having to much books. This does not help. It was a waste of $40. Plus, how do you clean it? Cute and Painful by: Anonymous On: 2005-07-01 I could not wait to get this bag. Law School Student by: Anonymous On: 2005-01-04 Ive found the Messenger Bag to be well suited for the trials of Law School as it has 1450 Cubic Inches of space, a lot more than that Banana Republic bag and much more durable than the American Eagle or the Abercrombie bags ive owned. May not be the most fashionable bag ever but certainly is more functional and much much more durable. Although I wouldnt suggest it for high school age kids. It does tend to put a lot more stress on the back than a backpack and since high school age kids have to carry more books at once I would recommend a backpack for them (Jansport of course). Pros-Lifetime Warranty Cons-Uppity rich kids might frown on you Great Bag.... For years Ive been buying JanSport bags for school and to use on trips. This bag I just got to help me through my Sophmore year of High School. I love JanSport because they have sturdy bags, that can last being packed to the brim with books, and shoved down bleachers, you know, typical high school stuff. It is also great for going up in the mountains, cause when you kick it down a cliff, it wont bust! YAY!!!!! This back rocks my socks, and you can decorate it with pins and patches and stuff to make it your own, I would recommend it everyone! |
