I have been searching for a pannier that would stay on, which seems to be a problem with some of the other less expensive panniers. This one does the trick. It has a dual hooking system - two coated metal hooks that go on the rack, and a bungee cord on the back that attaches down below to keep it from jumping off. I go over tracks twice a day and it has not come off. It has a metal insert that you can pop up to keep the bags shape when in use (it has an inner clip to keep it in place), then it folds up when not in use (again it has an adjustable clip to keep it closed). You can slide the bag back on the rack to keep your feet from hitting it. I have a Amsterdam cruiser and it works just fine. The only down side is that there isnt a top to close off the bag (hence the four star instead of five star rating). It has a removable shoulder strap, which I just put in the bag to keep it from getting caught. It seems sturdy and durable and has enough room for a grocery bag if you care to use one. It is easy to remove, but I keep my on just in case I need it, as it isnt in the way when its folded up. I bought one just to make sure I liked it and Im buying another.
