![]() Active Tunes i-RIDE Bicycle Stereo Speaker System By: Active Tunes Average Rating: 2.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information Music for my ride. The I-Ride allows you to play and listen to your favorite tunes while riding. This way is much safer than in helmet speakers. Mounting system does not interfere with bicycle controls. I would like volume control on the system itself not just thru my player. Good idea but poor quality holder broke immediately I got this for my wife to attach to our double jogging stroller. The sound quality is decent for a battery-powered set of speakers for the iPod. However, the plastic holder for the device broke immediately upon installation. I attached it to the stroller and tested the speakers and then folded up the stroller and the holder snapped immediately. Hardly any pressure on it. Really annoying! Iherently breakable design The 1/16th inch thick flimsy plastic mount that hold this thing to the handlebars broke after my first ride ... not because of anything on the ride, but the plastic is so cheap that when I went to remove the speakers after the ride the thinnest part of it fractured and broke because there was too much stress on it. You have to put that stress on it to get the speakers out of the mount. For the money the speakers, for me, were OK. I was on a pretty bumpy ride and did not have the cutting in and out problem others have mentioned, but the mickey mouse way of opening the battery compartment is another stupid design flaw. This is a good idea but and inexcuseably bad design that should never have made it out to the public. They obviously either did not test this thing or they decided to sell us suckers something that is so cheap and flimsy that it broke after the first use. I will use the speaker and design and build my own mount for this, maybe out of wood with some small hinges to go around the handlebar. A very annoying product that I had high hopes for. When I was riding a lot of people smiled and me and thought it was cool, and I can still hear what is going on around me, the product itself is the problem. Avoid this, and I would be suspicious of anything this company sells at this point because this is so glaringly bad. They have a newer more expensive version of this that hangs in a bag off the handlebars, but Im sure they would screw something up about that as well ... plus it costs over $50! Not again - stay away! You get what you paid for. Its ok for the price - sound quality is not great, but about what I expected. Distorts audio badly on higher volume input, especially if batteries are getting weak. Worst part - battery cover is not very secure (for something that is designed for a bike ride) and loses connection frequently, I have to adjust it (actually loosen it) to make good contact. absolute---junk save your hard earned money, this item offers terrible sound quality and fortunately it is barely loud enough to hear..... Not as good as it should be Nice idea, but like others have said, unless youre traveling on very smooth roads, the vibration makes the sound cut off and on. Plus its not loud enough when the ambient noise is higher. When you turn up the input volume, it overloads and cuts out completely. The vibrations broke the base of mine last weekend, so its life is over. Still looking for better. ITEM DID NOT WORK The whole idea of this item was great but the sound was warbled and I returned it. Smooth roads needed Active Tunes speakers work fine as long as the road isnt rough. When shaken, the battery lid cuts the connection in and out which is so annoying, I finally turn it off. If you mount it upside down, it works better, but still breaks down on longer bumpy roads. |
