Totally awesome computer commuter bag     On: 2009-04-06

This bag actually saved my life in Cairo -- it was red and stopped an insane taxi driver from hitting me. (All drivers in Cairo are insane.) And it is a wonderful computer bag. The shoulder strap could definitely be improved and the inside pockets could be more substantial, but for what it is I am extremely happy with it. (The other Crumpler I have -- a camera bag -- is pretty awesome, too.)
Great laptop bag. Add camera insert for your SLR too     On: 2009-03-30

This bag is designed to be a great laptop messenger bag. It has a built in laptop sleeve for a 15" MBP, lots of pockets for various accessories, its high quality, and costs only $60! I also like the simple, clean design. No weird logos, straps, stripes, or other standout features. I can carry this to a nice restaurant and it looks fine.

This is definitely a "kitchen sink" messenger bag. It will hold anything you can throw at it. When I go out in the day it carries my laptop, DSLR and 3 lenses. When I go out at night, I leave behind the extra lenses, carrying just my laptop, 5DM2 + 35mm f1.4. It even fits under the seat in an airplane.

I also purchased the Tenba photo insert which fits perfectly inside the Crumpler Dreadful Embarrassment.

The Dreadful already has a padded sleeve for a laptop. The photo insert adds padded sections for an SLR and 3 lenses.

Sturdy, Protective bag     On: 2008-07-27

I am very pleased with this bag. It has a nice zipper pocket on the inside and plenty of pockets in the front to hold your mouse, power supply, etc. Theres plenty of room for up to two normal sized text books and a notebook.

I suggest measuring your laptop before ordering. When I first got the bag, I had a 15" compaq and it fit perfectly. Of course after two weaks, that computer crashed and I got a new one.

The pocket of the bag is a little over 9 inches deep by 15 inches wide. The flap that goes around the top can make it accomodate a laptop an inch (maybe) deeper than 9 inches.

My new computer is a Dell Inspirion 1525. It fits snug and theres about 1/2 inch that comes out the top. I am not worried about anything happening because of this. The whole bag is very sturdy.

Big and roomy     On: 2008-03-19

This is a big and roomy messenger bag. You can fit a lot of stuff in here, and the bag looks really nice. It also seems very well built.

I dont know about the laptop pocket however. I have a 14" laptop and it was sticking out of the pocket. I didnt really feel that my computer was protected. The specs say it can hold a 17" laptop. Lengthwise, Im sure it does. But how much of the laptop sticks out on top?

Also, the laptop pocket does not go to the bottom of the bag, but hangs in the air about an inch above. This makes the bag look funny when you wear it, and makes it more awkward to fit stuff inside. I wish they would make it go all the way to the bottom. Maybe my 14" laptop would even fit inside.

It might be a better idea just to get a regular messenger bag and then a neoprene sleeve for your laptop. Thats what I plan to do.
Fabulous Bag     On: 2007-11-12

Sturdy, stain resistant, easy on the shoulder, plenty of space for all the pens/pencils/cords and cables. I got this as a gift for a law student, and he swears by it now. Definately a must-buy for an active student with laptop!
Roomy, but i have one problem with it...     On: 2007-10-25

Its really not a bad bag overall. Big, sturdy, lots of pockets and room, but I have one major issue with it. The padded laptop section leaves a good inch and a half wide section of the top of the laptop entirely open. This stands a fair chance of leading to scratches on the finish of the laptop, or worse if you hit it the wrong way. I may now have to get a neoprene sleeve to go along with it, which I wanted to avoid.
Great bag, quality, excellent price     On: 2007-03-20

I discover Crumpler bags in the search for a great camera bag, I have now added the "Crisp Suit" (similar to the Dreadfull Embarrassment(D.E.)) both are similer in size and capacity, the big difference is the pencil holder is in the front pocket on the Crist Suit and in the main compartment on the D.E. The laptop compartment is well padded and secure, and there is plenty of room for all of your accessories, AC wall charger, wireless mouse, mic headset, web cam, pens, Ipod 30GB,
Axim X50 + accessories, notebook 3 subject and a text book of average size.
Ive found that this bag makes me carry the essentials without overpacking.
These bags are made of very tough material, functional, fun and eyecatching, but not obnoxious and tell no tales of what the contents are.
My Crumpler collection, totaling 7 Crumpler bags.
