Excellent Product - Great Price     On: 2009-11-02

This product exceeds the product description. I am very happy with my purchase. I have been using these brake pads for three months and have not found a negative point. I certainly recommend these pads to other purchasers.
THESE ARE THREADED!     On: 2009-10-28

KS Salmons are great pads, but make sure these are the right ones you need. Description says "cantilever" and the pics show smooth stud pads but these are actually threaded stud pads. Wont work on my old cantis! (but they *will* work on more modern cantis such as Tektros and are probably a good choice.) Unfortunately Ill have to return them...
Kool Stop Eagle II grips like an eagle!     On: 2008-10-01

I moved into a more suburban area a few months ago and found biking to be the most efficient way to get around. I realized I had really loud stops on my old Pacific-brand mountain bike (cries like an elephant!) so I did a little bit of browsing and found these.

The Kool Stop Eagle II is one of the best brake pads you could get for your mountain bike; its just the right size for all my cantilever brake-type bicycles whereas others in the past were too big. I feel safer everytime I descend uneven trails with two pairs of these equipped to my bicycle.
It makes me happy too that such strong braking doesnt seem to make a sound, at least up until this second month Ive been using them.

And yes, please clean your rims before using these or the grease and "muck" build-up will rub off onto any new brake pads and severely affect braking performance.
These are great     On: 2008-01-17

I have been riding with these on my mountain bike for over a month. So far I love them. My old Shimano pads had become noisy, and were grinding down the rims. These Kool Stop pads are almost silent. They do a much better job of stopping the bike than the old pads. They work well in the rain, they are easy to modulate, and they arent "grabby."

One note of caution: Thoroughly clean your rims before putting these pads on, to remove all the material deposited by your old pads. Otherwise, your wet stopping ability will be decreased.
