Perfect for day trips     On: 2008-09-25

I bought nearly 3 laptop bags before settling for this one. I needed a bag that had considerable storage and a padded compartment for my mac and didnt look like an executive briefcase. This was perfect. Though the color of the bag is not blue but purple. People think its a little gayish but I dont give a damn. I can pack a days clothes along with a book and all other minor stuff such as iPods, cellphones and chargers. Im rating it 4 stars just for the color - wish there was one in gray or black.
Good but not quite great     On: 2008-08-31

As with the Dreadful Embarrassment bag, this bag has sufficient capacity, lovely inside pockets, and is comfortable to carry. The biggest drawback is that it has no handle on the top - you have to either hold it under your arm or carry it by the shoulder strap. When getting in and out of a car, thats a pain.

I find the interior pockets to be okay but not great - they dont seem to be well designed to hold the things I want to put in them.

Overall, I like the bag. And Im looking for one Ill like better.
PERFECT for a post-grad     On: 2008-07-29

First things first: when you get the bag, it takes some "breaking in". The nylon is tough (which is good), but that means it will be stiff and needs a few days to loosen up. After that, its an awesome bag. Comfortable to carry, very very durable (I would rate it up there with LL Bean quality, for those of you whove had the same backpack since grade school... you know who you are). The 15" MacBook Pro fits absolutely perfectly in the sleeve, with no room to spare (but thats good... it wont shift around on you).

Now the bad news: even after break in, its not as spacious as you might hope. I would not recommend this bag for current students (having just graduated from college 2 months ago, I know). Once you get your laptop in there, you realistically only have room for one, maybe two, text books if youre also carrying your charger and some other bulky stuff. For newly minted professionals, this bag is perfect, especially the black. Its sleek, minimalist, and professional, while at the same time still retaining some youthfulness. All of that, plus if your only carrying your laptop and a notebook everyday, like me, the bag is lightweight and comfortable.

Great product, and I would most definitely recommend it!
fits 13" widescreen like a glove (macbook for example)     On: 2006-10-07

Crumpler needs to update their specs to match more modern laptops. I tried the Moderate Embarassment and found it too small, so I had my local store bring in this one and the step above to see which worked best.

To my surprise, this bag fits my 13" macbook perfectly, almost as if it was made for it. The macbook doesnt stick out of the laptop pocket at all, nor does it fall in too far as I had expected. the pocket is the perfect size! and of course, it looks a lot cooler than most of the laptops bags I found that fit my macbook.

Only downside to Crumpler bags is the lack of weather proofing, but since I dont plan on taking this one out in the rain anyway, I still rate it at 5 stars.

Oh, one more thing. Crumpler laptop bags lack the side straps for attaching some of their nice, small cases (for phone, mp3 player, etc.). I got used to these side straps with one of their camera bags, and love being able to attach a couple small devices to each side, but no such option here.
Perfect!     On: 2006-06-27

My cousin recently purchased the Crumpler Considerable Embarrassment on my reccommendation! She has loved it. She has a 15-in Sony Vaio which fits loosly in the laptop sleeve; however, my 15-in Powerbook fits the laptop sleeve like a glove. It can hold a normal load for a school bag (computer, a few mediaum sized textbooks, folders, pens, pencils, and other accessories). I do wish it had a few more pockets and such; however, I think with its compact size, it holds an amazing amount! This bag is the perfect size for a girl (or boy) on the go! Im getting me one pretty soon!
Not a blah black laptop bag...     On: 2005-11-30

Perfect size, beautiful color.... overall, this is the closest I think I could get to an ideal bag for my ibook. I can easily carry my 14 inch, along with all needed accessories, personal stuff (wallet, phone, etc.) and even have space to fit in a book and notebook without becoming overloaded. The strap is comfortable, and easily adjustable. Inner sleeve perfectly fits my ibook, so I wonder if it might be slightly too small for a 15 inch screen. Waterproof.... I got caught in a downpour the other day and newly appreciated my bag. Only two slight complaints - VERY loud velcro closures (I work in a library!)... but hey, its certainly secure... and no outer phone compartment.
