Probably the best mechanical disc brakes you can buy!

These Avid brakes are definately worth the price. They may be the best mechanical brakes you can buy and may even be better than some hydraulics. I found these very easy to install and quite easy to calibrate if you follow the instructions. The instructions may be the weakest point of this product but if you take your time, theyre not bad. Its hard to beat the stopping power of hydraulic brakes but the stopping power of these Avids is up there. Plus, theyre compatible with virtually all v-brake levers which make them even more reasonable to upgrade to. Make sure you get new brake cables when you order these as you will need them (your existing cables will be too short).
