I think this is the best way to go for 5, 6, 7, or 8 speed drivetrains that use friction shifting. I have never used it with indexed systems, but if you intend to, I would probably go with a PC-870 or 890 because they are nickel plated for smooth shifting... I refuse to buy any chain that aint SRAM, though, they are quiet, smooth, strong, easy to take off and get back on, and last fo-eva!
