![]() Acumen EON Basix Heart Rate Monitor Watch By: Acumen Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 16 More Information Nice Monitor - Terrible Customer Service Nice monitor and accessories until the monitor case where the wrist strap is attached to the unit broke - rendering the monitor useless. I purchased the monitor less than 1 year ago but unfortunately threw the receipt away. I emailed Acumen twice and asked for assistance, if any, that they could give to me since I really liked the unit. I never received a response from the company. I will never purchase another product from the company again. Terrible customer service. Excellent value I cannot find one fault with this product... it functions exactly as described and is a perfect entry level monitor. Acumen HRM The heart rate monitor works fine for Heart Rate. However I wish it had some features that you may take for granted when it says "Is also a watch." It does not have a second hand, date, or a light. Its affordable and works well but read what your buying. Take Care. heart rate monitor Purchased this after reading Younger Next Year. I find it to be very easy to use. The monitor allows me see how little cardio vascular exercise I was receiving in the past. It take elevation and a good pace to get where I want to be and the monitor makes it easy to find the right rate. Do not get it wet, even to clean it! I used this HRM successfully for 3 months til I cleaned it under running water in the sink. The HRM apparently shorted out. This HRM is advertised as water resistant to 50 meters, but if you read the fine print in the back of the booklet, it will say do not use any buttons underwater or water can leak into the HRM and short it out. I do not reccommend this HRM for purchase. Sweat, rain, or a brisk cleaning can short it out, if the buttons are pushed. I consider this to be false advertising. This item should be withdrawn from sale as defective. Acumen Eon Basix Heart Rate Monitor This is a great no frills heart rate monitor, I have never had a problem having it lock on and it works as it should. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for an easy to use basic HRM. Not worth it I used my monitor to run for about three months and it served its purpose. However, the first time I got in the pool to start training the water flooded the watch and ruined it. Trying to get it fixed has been a pain and it seems like Im going to have to buy an entirely new monitor...what a waste. Great heart monitor at a good price This heart monitor was easy to set (time and use functions) and easy to use. Since it uses a strap, the heart rate monitor is continuously working and is very easy to read even while doing exercise. The chest strap is easy to clean and the wrist monitor is easy to read as it has a large face and is magnified. It does the job and is not overly priced. very good heart monitor I bought my first heart monitor 20 years ago. It lasted until now, but it was bulky and I never used it outdoors. The Acumen is much nicer and easier to use and I can only hope it will be nearly as durable. The only thing I dont like is the contacts on the chest strap must be wet/damp to work, which wasnt the case on my old one. Works fine indoors and outdoors. Easy to read display. I would tell people to buy this product. Good for beginners I am just getting into road cycling and wanted something simple for intervals. The unit works well and is reliable. I would purchase another one if it broke today. I especially like the target zone feature. Mine Broke! I bought my HRM in February. I have used it 5 days a week since then. I found it to be very user friendly, but where the transmitter and the batteries are connected on the chest transmitter, it cracked and seperated. Needeless to say, it does not work any more.It is only November, and to me 9 months seems kind of early to replace a HRM! The warranty does not cover the chest strap (which I found out is the entire transmitter), so I am S.O.L. It is my first purchase of a HRM, so needless to say, next time I will do my research first. Great for heart rate monitoring, less useful for calorie counting This haert rate monitor is reasonbly priced and works great for swimming. It has a "calorie counting" feature, but I find that does not correlate all that well with actual measurements of calories on health club equipment. If I calibrate it to be an accurate calorie counter at one heart rate, and I change heart rate, the calorie measurement is not that accurate. --Lee great when it worked when moveing i stopped workingout for a month, after about 3 months of using it, it was no surprise when the battery was dead when i tried it out, what sucked was that it didnt start again, even with a new battery, and acumen will charge you $7.50 + shipping and handling for warrenty repair, this HM is not polaris compatible so it wil never work on any treadmill you ever use, i hae learned from my mistake, i hope you do as well Bargain Heart Rate Monitor This product is great. The price is so much lower than the Polar brand. And it has multiple features. I wear mine everyday and recommend it to everyone. Decent This is a very simple straightforward heart rate monitor. It is very easy to use and read. I dont think the calorie counter is all that accurate (too high during normal activities and too low during excersize). If simple is what your looking for I think you will be very satisfied Great addition to a beginner's workout Consumer Reports and Prevention magazine both identify this HR monitor as one of the best. (I had considered Polar, but you pay $10-20 more for comparable features and you have to send it back to the manufacturer when the battery needs to be replaced.) Out of the box, the Acumen has been user-friendly. It has good instructions included and the options are well organized. A note included in the manual says theyve upgraded the battery to one with a 2.5 year life. And they include an extra battery, so Im set for 4-5 years. I used it for the first time yesterday and was very happy. The alarm let me know when I was over or under the target zone and the strap didnt slip at all. Im really glad I went with Acumen. |
