These recumbant three wheeled bikes are expensive but a good one is worth every penny that you spend in comfort, fun, safety and durabilty. As a Catrike owner of two I would encourage everyone thats interested to find a local bike shop that sells a variety of brand names and do a test ride. If you dont come back with a big ol grin on your face Id be surprised. TerraTrike makes good equipment and the previous review about the boom is very untypical of the product. I suspect this gentleman does not have the trike adjusted properly.

Wow, first time I rode it I was hooked. Now I own it. Who said 62 is old, on this trike I feel 16. Only problem is the boom. The crank boom is not fixed so you can adjust to different sized riders, but if you are on a slight incline, and are geared up, you can really twist the boom and suddenly you are pedaling sideways. I am working on a fix. Also if you are short legged, the cranks are too long. I had to have mine cut down. Fun, Sporty, Practical. I am riding to work now.
