Hate Your Car Buy this bike rack     On: 2009-07-16

Take a second look at the picture of this item. Thats your printed instruction for installing this ludicrous bike rack. I received this with numerous scratches on the bars a chunk tore off one of the padding. Then the seller Jacks Shed tells me proudly the manufacturer decided not to include the instruction sheet or manual cause they feel one does not need it??? So my friends you go look at the picture install it and damage your car what will be the answer.... you did not follow the instructions.

My opening statement was, take a second look at the picture. The rack straps over the paint of your car to the wheel wells. The straps will rub against the paint of your car and will damage it. (Darn why did I not notice that before ordering it?).

Now look at the straps that hook up to the fender. My mountain bike is 52 pounds and my wifes is another 50 pounds. That is over a 100 pounds tugging at the straps at the wheel well and the fender. Ever tried to lift your car with the fender? :) Like I said you gotta hate your car to buy this product.

Too bad there is no negative star rating available.

Jacks Tool Shed will not take the responsibility for that. As a matter of fact they were rude in their communication and rather corny in approach when I finally demanded they send me pick up slip and make full refund for this worthless piece of merchandise. I made them refund every penny plus send a ups pickup.

I will never order anything from Jacks Tool Shed. They have no earthly idea of what is customer service and I doubt if they sell anything that may not cause damage to your property.

When I first received it I thought it was used merchandise for the poor quality.. as described earlier. Here is the attitude from Jacks

"Hello,
We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the bike rake. We are not sure why you think it is used but we do not sell used merchandise. The manufacturer of this bike rack does not include any instructions with it even though the display card says there are instructions included. We have contacted them about this but the manufacturer believes that the picture of the bike rake mounted on the car on the display tag shows how the item is to be installed.
If you want to return the item you can send it back to us at:"

Ya right. Well I said then if it isnt used, it is damaged and gave the seller a negative review here come their next attitude.

"Okay, so now you say it is damaged and threaten not to pay. Well OK, we will agree to send you a prepaid return tag and we will credit your Amazon account once the bike rack is received back and inspected " if you agree to remove the negative feedback" that you posted on Amazon before giving us a reasonable chance to resolve the issue. Let us know when the feedback is removed and we will send out the UPS return tag in an email to you so you can print it out and use it to ship the bike rack back to us".

Notice they offered to refund price not shipping.
I wrote "Too late. No Deal".

Thats all folks ball is in your court.
