My main use is to freak out dogs that attack me and it has worked very well on every dog that has dared to chase me. Stops them in their tracks. Easier than carrying a can of air or a shotgun. You may need earplugs after this... by: on: 28-Oct 2009 I'm glad that I heeded the warnings from the reviews here. This horn is LOUD, and I had earplugs in when I tooted it. I would certainly not recommend creeping up on a pedestrian with this unless you want to give him/her a heart attack. I'd only toot it to warn a pedestrian if I was at least 100 yards away. Perfect for busy traffic, though. GREAT HORN (A MUST HAVE FOR BIKE SAFETY) by: on: 04-Oct 2009 THIS IS A MUST HAVE ITEM FOR THE ROAD; CARS WILL HEAR YOU AND MOVE! The Air Horn works as advertised. The nice thing about it is you can adjust the volume of the horn as to not make it too loud (Not Suggested Keep It LOUD). It is easy to mount and easy to refill.
