You do not need a lot of experience to install this item. It takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. It works smooth and quiet. New life for old MTB by: on: 23-Sep 2008 I installed this derailleur on an old 80's, friction shifting, Huffy mountain bike, along with a set of SIS Shimano 6-speed shifters and some SIS shifter cable housing. Now the old girl shifts quick and clean with every click just like a new bike. Mine didn't have the red cog like is pictured, but not a real concern. works good, easy by: on: 16-Mar 2008 I just installed this derailler on my mountain bike and it works great, the cogs are twice the size of normal, it looks kind of funky.
