![]() Trail-Gator Child Bike Tow Bar By: Cycle Force Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 45 Features:
Dimensions: Length: 24" Width: 8" Height: 6" Product Description: The Trail-Gatorâ„¢ tow bar converts an ordinary childs bike into a safe, towable trailer bike. When the childs bike is connected, the front wheel is lifted off the ground and a stabilizing bar prevents the handlebars from turning, so the adult is in control of steering. Children can choose to coast or pedal while they are being towed, making the ride much easier for them. Where to Buy
Reviews great idea by: on: 19-Oct 2009 So, my family is big into bike riding and our son had outgrown his bike seat, but is to small to take the long rides we like to take. we got the trail-gator. we now are able to take him on very long rides and he loves it. only issue we have is him breaking, but we just tell him to petal forward. Great Concept by: on: 09-Oct 2009 I've used this twice around Central Park in NYC and I love it. My 5yr old loves it and it's a great way to spend time with the family. It's a real eye catcher. I attached this to my wife's bike and I followed behind on my bike to make sure everything worked. It did start to lean to the side a bit but I corrected it by tightening the bolts. I only gave this 4 stars only because the potential safety concerns commented on here are real. After reading the comments about the bolts comming loose, I purchased a small bike pouch that stores under the seat to carry a small wrench. As long as you install it correctly and excercise caution (making sure all bolts are tight before each ride), this product should work for you. Once installed, setting up the bikes to ride or for storage takes less then 3 min. I love this product! difficult to use by: on: 12-Sep 2009 We tried using the trail gator and had less than pleasing results - My son's bike kept leaning to one side or the other. I re-read the instructions made what ever adjustments that I could but still had the same results. Perhaps I have to make further adjustments and try again but if that's not it, then it would be hard to recommend the gator Lousy by: on: 10-Sep 2009 After spending half an afternoon putting the thing together, I was able to use it successfully and happily a half dozen times. Then, the whole thing fell apart and my daughter fell off of her bike -- twice. This is not a confidence-building experience. I've worked and re-worked this contraption, but it's just not stable.
