Reviews Way over-priced!  by: on: 28-Dec 2007 After 7 years of mild off road riding I decided to go to more aggressive locations, and sure enough a twig got lodged between chain and derailer lower pulley. So,the derailer ended up in the spokes and pointed up to 12 o'clock, and the hanger was twisted beyond repair. I thought it would be hard to find the hanger for a 2001 Trek 4500, but there it was on Amazon for $21.00 + shipping. Then I had to go into town for some shopping and stopped in to my LBS (local bike shop) where I had purchased the bike, and sure enough, he had a drawer full of the right hangers. Genuine Trek parts, and only $10 each! So I got one for $10.83. I'm sure the one on Amazon will work fine, but I shop at Amazon to save money, not waste it. View All Derailleurs |
