Cool looking device which I never use.       rating

PROS: Nice looking metal stand with fairly solid construction. Nice fit and finish. Designed for bikes that don't have a kickstand.

CONS: It's kind of like a solution in need of a problem- There are very few situations where one can use this thing conveniently. It's too big and heavy to take with you riding (might as well just get a kick stand.) And even at home, it's is much easier to just lean the bike against something rather than futzin' around try to get the bike balanced just right with this thing so it won't fall over. (Which brings me to my biggest issue.) Only works well with certain bike geometries. The cranks on my Specialized Tricross were just barely long enough to use. It always was on the verge of falling over and would do just that if you even brushed against the bike. There might be a certain bike with long cranks or a low Bottom bracket that would work just fine, but I recommend trying it out first at a bike shop instead of buying online.

VERDICT: Neat idea & cool-looking, but too inconvenient to use all the time and may not work at all with your bike geometry
Nice product, doesn't fit all pedal arms.       rating

I was excited when I got this item as I thought it would be the perfect solution to adding a stand to my Dahon Matrix folding bike. It is sleek and seems well made. Unfortunately, it does not fit over the end of the pedal arm on my bike. Make sure before buying it that the pedal arm on your bike is not too wide.

I've used this very compact and light stand for over a year now on my road bike. I mostly use it when I park the bike in the garage. It works great for that purpose, keeping the bike upright and not leaning. It is not as stable as a regular mounted kickstand but it is stable enough. I've found that I need to turn the front wheel so that it rests pointed away from the stand for optimum stability. This stand is light enough and can easily be carried along for rides where the only other options for parking a bike are leaning it or laying down. I recommend this stand.

I ordered this product as a substitute for a kickstand for my Specialized Sirrus. In theory this was a good idea. The problem with the FlashStand is that it lacks the ability to be adjusted for bike height and pedal length. The result a constant fear that the bike will fall over even on a flat surface. I would not trust it in the slightest of wind gusts, and you can forget slopes. After about two months of use, the plastic foot came off the stand and had to be glued back into place.
