Reviews They should offer a larger diameter handlebar clamp.  by: on: 05-May 2009 It aint that hard to figure out without directions. There's only four bolts, two nylok nuts and four plastic molded pieces. I don't know what kind of plastic this material is, but without too much effort I had no problem prying apart the handlebar clamp. But I can see where it might be too tough for some. Believe me, if this clamp got stressed to the point of snapping you would know about it. The handlebar bracket was a sloppy fit, but wrappng a few turns of black electricians tape around the circumferance of the handlebar between it and the clamp took up the slop. No slop after I tightened it. Solid as a rock. Now, my handlebars are only 22 mm diam. close to the brake cable mounts and then it flares up to 25mm in diam. towards the gooseneck. So now you know what to expect. I agree they should offer a larger diameter handlebar clamp and print a diameter spec to go along with it. Check your handlebar thickness before buying  by: on: 28-Sep 2008 I ordered this for a new road bike and was disappointed at the lack of documentation and that the cheap plastic bracket almost snapped when I put it on my handlebars. The handlebars were way too thick for the screw holes to line up even with a longer screw as the previous reviewer noted. There are no dimensions listed for maximum handlebar thickness yet there needs to be as newer bikes are larger. Needs instructions and a longer screw...  by: on: 27-Aug 2008 Recieved item, it shipped without any paperwork (instructions). It came with two screws and nuts to connect a fixed piece to the bike, then it has another screw to connect another piece to the fixed mount on the bike. The screw for this piece was too short. You are able to connect it, but only about two threads catch. I went ahead and connected and put the PN-20 on it, but it was too loose. I had to go to the hardware store and purchase a longer screw to make it work. View All Global Position System (GPS) |
