I just got this last week, and I finally got to take it out for a spin. I just finished a 20-mile ride on a local 'rails to trails' route in my hometown. I have to say that I am amazed at how well this thing works. I was out for about an hour and a half through miles of rural paved trails on a cloudy night - with no other available light.

This thing clearly illuminated the entire width of the trail - and about five feet of trailside on both sides of the trail. As for distance, I estimate that I could see between 200 and 300 yards in front of me.

I have the light helmet mounted. It does add some weight to the helmet, but I very quickly got used to it. When the thing arrived, I unpacked it and plugged it right into the USB port of my computer to let it charge for a few hours, which is unbelievably convenient, by the way. There is a USB cable provided, but I didn't need it. The USB cable for my digital camera worked just fine.

When I ordered the thing, I told myself that if I liked it, I would order a second one for my handlebars. After seeing how well the single unit works on the helmet, a second unit would be overkill. Maybe some of you who ride wooded, off-road trails at night could find a use for a second unit, but for my riding preferences, I couldn't be happier.

At this price point (less than 100.00), this light is amazing. Super bright, (110 lumens), amazingly lite weight. I use it for riding my mountain bike on the local trials at night and it is fantastic. You could pay alot more money for dual lights, longer ride times/battery life etc., but for my uncomplicated two-three hour night night rides I could not be more satisfied. For a fantastic light less 100.00 this is the light to buy.

Ordered light for a gift and had it sent to another address. It arrived faster than estimated shipping. Gave light as a gift to grown son who is very pleased with lite-weight and very bright. What more can you ask for?
Nice light for commuting       rating

I bought this light to replace one I was wearing on my bike helmet. The previous light had a heavy battery I would have to put in my jersey pocket or I'd wear a fanny pack backwards.

This light's battery is extremely light. It mounts on your top tube so no more carrying the battery.

I like the engineering of how the light mounts to your bar. Very easy to take on and off and yet still firmly fixed to the bar if you never plan to take it off.

The light itself is bright. Not as bright as my other NiteRider HD light but that light is $400.

The only thing I would like is for the light to have a mode for flashing. That would be nice during rainy daytime commuting where your not using the light to see but more to be seen by vehicles.
