Reviews Toughest Boys Bike You'll Find by: on: 25-Jun 2009 I agree with some of the other comments made about this product. When the bike arrived, it did look like it went through a war, but their was nothing mainly wrong with the bike. The only major problem that I had was the inner tube on the front tire had a hole in it. A simple trip to the store to buy a new one for a few dollars was no big deal. The bike is rock solid and will be able to withstand anything that my son can do. I had a Huffy growing up and we would crash into lots of different things, but the bike always managed to keep going. I totally support the quality and workmanship of Huffy products. Think Bigger by: on: 28-Mar 2009 My doctor wants me to walk for exercise. Walking is boring. Ridng a bicycle is more fun. After all, it was fun when we were kids. So many people are now riding for transportation and or execise. Good old Amazon here I come. Hey this one looks nice and the price was right on the button. FedEx delivered it right on time however the box looked like it had gone through the war zone. There were about half a dozen holes in the box and pieces of the bike were sticking out. I was not home at the time of delivery or I won't have accepted it. When I went to move the box it tore apart. Oh my gosh look at this mess. The description on Amazon said "some assembly required". I wasn't going to take any chances so I took it to a cycle shop for them to assemble. Who knows if the bike was damaged in transportation. Notice I said transportation, I was being nice. Sixty five dollars later when I pick up the bike the owner of the shop asks if the bike is for me or a boy since I was buying a helmut. I said for me. Well I have news for you said the owner, this bike is for a boy not a man. Oh great. Notice Amazon lists it as a "Men's" not a "boy's". I tried riding it when I got home and yes this is for a BOY. I am out the money and still don't have a bike to ride. I guess the next thing to do is go back to the cycle shop and buy a more expensive one that is for a MAN. I learned my lesson. I guess I will donate it to a charity and at least get a write off for next years taxes. Buyer be ware. decent bike, poorly packaged by: on: 22-Mar 2009 The box was damaged, taped in various placed and had big holes .. with the derailer showing through. The derailer was not dented, but the brakes were bent and a the cable connections were damaged. I bent them back and found a way to reconnect the cable, though the back brakes still function only fairly. Not a bad bike for the money, but unsure why they used such a flimsy cardboard box instead of taking any effort to add more protection to the parts that might get dented with rough handling. Unsure if I will return it ... would be hard to take apart and I couldn't really see what was bent or malfunctioning until I tested it out. But this is definitely the last time I will buy a bicycle - or anything that requires similar assembly - from Amazon, though. View All Mountain Bikes |
