Product Description: The Speed combines sporty performance with terrific value. Year after year it remains our most popular bike because of this. The frame is hand-welded from custom-drawn 4130 chromoly Sonus tubing and incorporates six different patented technologies, resulting in what is probably our stiffest frame. Where to Buy
Reviews a sturdy little bike..... by: on: 04-Nov 2009 I bought this for my wife and she loves it. It even got her interested in riding again after a several year hiatus. She rode it on the entire C&O Canal last year and on the Erie Canal towpath between Lockport and Palmyra and back this year. Due to my belatedly finding of a bulge on the side of a tire on my own folding bike, I ended up borrowing it and riding it myself early last month for the entire 184 mile C&O Canal. My bike (purchased after she started biking again) cost a bit more than hers, but I could feel no difference on the towpath. The previous year, neither of us could feel any difference when we briefly traded bikes so she could ride more easily. On the road, I can feel a difference between the two, but it's to be expected and not huge. This bike is not for you if you have road bike riding friends and you want to use it with them and to easily keep up. If you just want to get around with gears that make getting up that hill easier. My only problem with the bike itself is that you need to also have a crescent wrench along to remove either wheel to fix a flat tire. Dahon Speed D7 2009 Folding Bike by: on: 27-Oct 2009 Love it! The only negative is there is no place to attach the basket on the front of the bike. View All Folding Bikes |
